Description
Philosophy of Law (CVL1024) introduces the main questions of jurisprudence by exploring analytical and normative approaches and the debate between natural law and legal positivism. It examines key legal philosophers; from Aquinas, Hobbes, Kant, and Hegel to Kelsen, Hart, Fuller, Finnis, and Dworkin – focusing on their theories of law, rights, and legal validity. The unit develops a critical understanding of how different philosophical frameworks shape the interpretation, authority, and purpose of law.
